The history of Motorworld Munich dates back to the 1920s when the site in the northern part of Munich, where Motorworld Munich is now located, served as a railway repair workshop.
For more than 70 years, locomotives, trains, and trams from all over Germany and neighboring European countries were maintained and repaired in the vast halls of this location, emphasizing its connection to mobility from the beginning. Building 79 housed the administration, worker dressing rooms, washrooms, and a non-public control center. After extensive restoration and renovation, Building 79, along with two modern event venues, Kohlebunker and Kesselhaus, opened in January 2020.
